There is no wear anywhere on this bayonet. Not on the blade, not on the grips, not on/in the hole in the handguard. And, not in the slot! Scabbard has very slight wear. Thanks for looking. From NS

That looks great. I hope mine looks that good. It appears you didn't have to fight anyone off with as well, a real plus. I'm glad for you.

Sweet! Looks like you did well.

Hey Krag, what was that you said about posting pics of pristine examples? :D

2500 miles from the nearest CMP store!! We REALLY need a CMP Pacific Northwest store. I've got this vacant lot across the street from my house I've been trying to get Orest interested for years. I'm sure it could be bought cheap!! I'd even help them move in ... or store the stuff at my place until they get the place built!! :D

Any WT's left there when you arrived?

12-01-2010, 03:23 PM
As far as I know yes.

12-01-2010, 03:24 PM
To be honest, it looks reparked to me.

12-01-2010, 04:11 PM
I'm going to take it apart tomorrow to see if the metal looks any different under the grips. It doesn't feel like any sort phosphate. I'll try a speck of zip-strip to see if it might be some sort of paint?

12-01-2010, 04:21 PM
In your second picture there appears to be some pitting which has been parked over--could me forging marks that were not machined out, though.

12-01-2010, 04:57 PM
My initial reaction was reparked as well. Doesn't matter though, it all adds to the flavor.

12-02-2010, 02:12 PM
Oh my. Reparked or not, I would happily walk that bayonet to the checkout. Very nice purchase.
