Fake: Except for the 1970's production and one other early production, all US GI check pads were pre-curved to fit the stock. When you see a flat pad (except those two I mentioned), it is a fake.

There are several other items I will not mention because the makers will change their production and eventually we will have an endless supply of "Originals".

Again prices will usually give you an idea. An original 1952 will usually sell in the $150.00-$200.00 range, or higher if new like yours.

I am glad I checked this thread out! I bought a "buggered" 1903mk1 that came with a cheek pad that I don't like. It's a "MRT5.52" Pre-curved. So this thing might be worth about half what I paid for the rifle.
