Is it real? Says it is a return from Israel - anyway to know for sure? Federal Ordinance I heard was importing M1Ds in the early 1990's.

Block doesn't look right to me. The front lower corner should be radiused.

If I recall correctly, I thought I remember seeing M1D's posted for sale by Samco and they were listed as coming back from Israel - this maybe from the early 80's or so. I wasn't into the M1 at all back then so didn't pay close attention to the details. I don't have enough knowledge about the actual rifle(s) to make an informed opinion, but I did recall the other info - Bill in MA

There were two companies offering these Israeli M1Ds in the late '80s, Samco in FL and Sherwood International in CA. Samco is still around but Sherwood closed up shop sometime in the '90s.

Perhaps but you'd never know without paperwork to prove it. Either way the price was too high for an indocumented import stamped M1D. Someone got taken to the cleaners on that one.
