Got my 1911 in

Got my 1911 in. Colt frame with replacement slide, serial 620,862.

Only rebuild markings are A 6 77, I know very very little about these, so if I'm missing something, let me know

Overall am happy, it will make for a great shooter. It's not for sale so you can stop PMing me :)

This pistol had the finger cuts added. Way cool. My favorite so far and this will generate a lot of discussion.

Congratulations. Thanks for sharing your good fortune with us. Something else you can be thankful for this weekend!

I have much to be thankful for. Im not really a 1911 guy but I figured if I can get 1 or 2 I can hand them down to my boys when its time :)

Those finger grooves appear to have been cut with a tool bit instead of a grinder. Something that would point to a plan to do many more of them. Like might be found on ones done by the USMC and the up to 40,000 that they might have done. And it falls in a serial number group that was shipped to the Marines. You've done very well.

Awsome man, I'm for sure jealous of you.

Nice Looking Colt

You have the same pistol that I have down to the same replacement slide. Yours look very good and you have something fun to shoot and to pass on to your boys. I appreciate you posting the photos and congratulations.

What documentation is there of the serial number range being sent to the Marines? Is it in the SRS or another publication?
