Help with scope ring and mount

I am planning on mounting a SWFS SS 10x scope on my standard M1A. It has a 30mm tube, any suggestions for rings and mount. I was planning on getting a CASM mount and would like it to be as low as possible.

I use a Basset low mount with Vortex Pro Series 30mm rings on one of my M1A's and Basset low mount with UTG Pro 30mm rings on the other one. Both setups are rock solid.

Like the Basset too and would go that route. Might want to check the objective bell diameter to determine ring height for clearance with the hand guard....if needed.

basset or sadlak mount will both serve your purpose w/low or medium rings.
swafa has scopes on sale in 10x now for $199. many ring options. I have both basset and sadlak. both solid.

I have a SWFA SS 10X 30mm scope mounted on my M1A using a Basset low picatinny mount, and the SWFA SS - TAC low (.8") rings.

Just a side note on SWFA SS scopes. I have a 16x mounted on my M1A, it has tons of elevation and I shoot it at 1000 yds. Glass is clear and while there are better optics out there, this scope has served me well the past 7 years on this rifle. THey are a great scope at a sane price. THey are fixed power and totally trustworthy.

Went with the aluminum Sadlak mount and TPS low aluminum rings. Now I just need a comb riser and I’m all set. With the 10x SWFS scope, mount, rings and the MacMillian Stock I got from an old gunner off one the USMC team rifles it’s sitting at roughly 13 lbs unloaded! Once I figure out how to post photos I’ll throw some up of the rifle and groups

I have been using the SWFA SS for years and the only issued I had was the O rings dried up some from lack of use. Great optic for a great price

I inherited a Springfield Armory 3rd edition 3 pt. mount (they got a 4 th edition out now) and its been adequate. I know the Sadlak and Basset mounts recommended by those in this thread are "KNOWN" to be the answer to scoping a M1A and I'd go that route if I were starting out.

I don't go that route because the SA mount with SWFA rings and SWFA 16x scope are adequate for me to put rounds in a chest of man size target (500yd USMC qualification target) from 1000 yd line with hand loads replicating Mark 316 Mod "O" military load. I have a standard grade M1A and its performing way beyond what it should be doing from 1000 yd line.....I am sure if I sink $$ into a better mount and match grade barrel, it would do better but frankly, its good enuff at this moment. At 600 yd line, I'd go toe toe with any of you for hits in 10 ring on a NRA 600 YD Target. At 1000....better barrel and better mount, you guys will out score me.

Don't buy a SA mount...go with advice of others above.

I've an ARMS-18 and have NEVER had an issue. I know everyone has their favorite but whatever works for you is all you need.
