Well.....they are still allowing the Stith-Kollmorgen 1903 A3/4 USMC 4X Sniper Rifle. I spoke to a CMP employee at the National Matches about this last summer and he said he had tried to get this fixed. I guess it will take an act of congress. Good Shooting. ....

How do "common sense" and "no brainer" rules get added/corrected?

Do we want shooters to come out or not?

Do we actually have to follow the rules? I've seen rifles that don't fit the rules but still on the line.

With as many empty relays I saw at Butner last year ..(what 3-4 at the end of shooting around 1PM or so.) We could have easily had more people there shooting.

I know what you mean. Rule

4.2.5 As-Issued Foreign Military Rifles

still decrees no other nation besides the US has heard of, much less used semiauto rifles in WWI, WWII, Korea, or who knows what. Reminds me of the SASS which says 1911 pistols OK, but Mauser C96s, Pistole Parabelum P00-P08 (a.k.a. Luger), and even Browning/FN 1900s are not.

I do also find amusing if you open the rules online, you will know they were written in Microsoft Word.
