M14 Ejector

I know the M14 ejector is compatible with the M1 bolt. Is there a difference in the ejector spring? The M14 spring seems to be a bit longer.

M14 and M1 ejectors are different. M14 ejector has three angles on the face and the M1 ejector has two angles on the face. They are also different body length and stem length, but same diameter. The m14 ejector might work in the M1, but they are different for a reason. M14 ejector spring is 2.13" nominal length and the M1 spring is quite shorter at somewhere around 1.250", not sure the exact dimension. The reason for the longer spring difference, I believe, has to do with tension on the extractor when ejection occurs.

The longer spring on the M14 has to provide more pressure to eject the spent case quicker as the action is shorter that the Garand to avoid stoppages.
