It's WRA week at CMP

2 great Winchester M1's this week. How did we get so lucky?

Wow, those are both beautiful rifles. It'll be interesting to see what they go for.

The link to the photos has some extra characters...have to remove the cmpauction hyperlink info before the secure link to the google photo album, which would be this...

So, if i read the description correctly (and from looking at the pics), part of the rifle has been re-parked? Maybe barrel, receiver and trigger group?

Sure there are knowledgeable experts out there that have a better perspective.

I don't think there is anything from the description or pictures that would suggest any parts have been "re-parked". The description states that that barrel breech is not in the white, this is the normal situation for an original finish WRA barrel. The very inner portion of the breech does look to be in the white which is exactly what would be expected. In my opinion, this is a pretty spectacular late WRA. I say that partially because I am not bidding and I don't mind bumping up the price, otherwise I would keep my mouth or typing fingers shut.

Thanks Mike! I did not recall that about Winchesters. I agree it is a very nice rifle. Knowing it is original finish, etc. seems to support a strong final price.
