Ammo belt, what did I buy?

Good evening, I was at a local auction tonight and purchased an ammo belt. I believe itís an m-1923 but this is my first belt. I searched and could not find any that were tan. So my question is, is it real and if not itís ok also as I only paid $3.50. So real or not Iíll put it to use. Any feedback to help me learn will be greatly appreciated.

Great, thank you for the answer. I’m not upset as the cost was low.

Ha, you saved over $30.00 includng shipping and it will carry your ammo, don't put too much pressure on the buckle, their metal was iffy in casting and hardness..

50 years from now this belt will still be in demand. for the movie SAVING PVT RYAN they made a bunch of these and I pay 23.00 for each one. good way to carry an enblocs or two 5 rd clips

Back in 1968, I bought two of these belts which were original WWII GI surplus for 99 cents each. One was khaki and the other was Olive drab.

you bought original g,i, ammo pouches. probally Korean war or nam issue. I bought mine in 1968 also at a gunshow for five dollars. had I looked far enough into the future to see how high in price they would go I should have borrowed money from a bank and stocked up on them. I would say, depending on the shape they are in that their value would be 100.00-150.00.every year just add more money to them. in a lot of war movies they had special pouches made so unless you can find an expert on this issue i'm not really qualified to say the value. the Chinese makes some good ones at 22.00 and I haven't found any from SAVING PT. RYAN but they are probally made by the Chinese too.anything in the sixty's or earlier hold on to them and someday make your kids rich. I found a 1904 mckeever ammo pouch today in excellent shape and bought it for a 100.00 bill.it holds 20 30-40 krags or 20 30-06's. I am happy and I will wear it to all my matches for a conversation piece..good luck

p.s...….. in 1968 most of the ammo pouches for 03's and the garand would have disappeared from use in nam. the m16 and m14 was taking over and different belts were called for but as long as both rifles will be around a person should stock up on them and magazines.what cost 20.00 bucks today will be at 40.00 in a few years and there will always be a demand for them
