MODERN MILITARY Class A handguard sling attachment

This maybe painfully oblivious, but I can't quite figure this out:

What the heck is a non-adjustable sling swivel?

I want to install a free float handguard on a carbine for MM Class A.

5.2.3 Standard U.S. Modern Military Rifles, Class A
Category A Standard Modern Military Rifles must comply with these requirements:

e) Rifles may be fitted with a float tube or free-floating handguard. A non-adjustable sling swivel may be attached to the forward end of the handguard;

What the heck is a non-adjustable sling swivel? They are all adjustable are they not? This is what I had planned on using on a short piece of rail as far forward as possible on the bottom of the free float hand guard. Kinda pricey but it did not look like it was going anywhere once installed.

Thanks!

I interpret the rule as not allowing multiple attachment points. Your sling swivel is probably OK, but a rail with more than one usable slot, not legal.... JMO. I am building a couple of these MM ARs and will be using a simple detachable swivel base with threaded shaft and a thin nut inside the float tube. Good Shooting. ..

On that MI, I think there's a set screw under the crossbar that holds the pivot pin in place. Make sure it's snug.

TO ME.....Your sling swivel is GTG. i think they are referring more to an adjustable sling/handstop like on a match rifle. Just turn a knob and adjust it fore/aft. The one in the pic is secured, yea....you could MOVE it but wouldn't consider that 'adjustable".

just my .02,

Thanks for the inputs guys. I do want to play by the rules.

Too much looking on the interwebs, seems like there are 87000 different combinations of freefloating rails and handguards with key mod, m-lok, picatinny everywhere and with quick disconnect sling swivel attachments at 3 and 9 and 12.

I really just want something clean and very plain like a carbine size float tube within a sling swivel on the end with cheap plastic handguards just like a service rifle...only carbine size.

Keith I think you are correct and I gravitated to that particular sling swivel because it utilizes an allen head socket vise a knurrled knob as in it requires a tool to move it.

Inspectors may tape it some how as to show you did not move it. As when some matches will tape your scope MagX ring on 4x , 10x ect ect
We used to run a small 22 shoot. Scopes would be taped on highest X up to 10x.

I decided to go with this Windham Weaponry handguard with integral sling lug. It looks clean and feels great to me! And it does not have rails all over the place.

Just a word of warning. We used an identical stud and QD 1 1/4" sling swivel on one Modern Military AR upper. The QD swivel failed under sling tension. They are not built for competition, just for carrying the rifle. It was replaced with a more solid type swivel...no more problems. Good Shooting. ...

Did the swivel or stud fail? How long did it last?
