WTT - CMP 1911 - Trade Colt Slide for Rem Rand 3rd Gen - Light gray Park finish
Looking to trade a Colt slide for 3rd Gen Rem Rand slide.

Just received my Arsenal Reworked CMP 1911. Really nice, but....

This one came with really nice light gray Park finish to both the Colt slide, and the Rem Rand 1943 S/N 1,3xx,xxx frame.

Ok- I know the history of these is for most all to be a 'Franken' gun, but my Dad's WWII Service Pistol was a Rem Rand, so I was thinking maybe some one has opposite situation with Colt frame and 3rd Gen Rem Rand slide would like to end up with matching slide and frame too.

I'm kinda thinking these 1st 8,000 1911 pistols released were possibly reworked 'at the same time', and most likely if that's true, the Park finish on others should be same light gray.

Big assumption, but anything could have happened. Maybe...?

This Colt slide is 'Mid Pony', and has August 19th, 1913 last date on it.

Would like for both of us to be happy when done and finished.

Can exchange pix of the entire pistol, CMP Authenticity Cert, and case to verify we each have the 'real deal'.

So, let me know if you are interested and we can go from there.

Thanks & best regards,

Hey Guys

My trade is completed.

Worked with a great Forum User and am thrilled with the results of our trade.

Goal was for both of us to be.

Thank you to all who replied.

Others want same as you and keep looking.

FYI - I traded 4 parts total, by identifying original mfgr.

Get yourself a Harrison book - US Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945

There is another better book, but it is at least few hundred bucks. Can't remember its name, but I'm sure you could find it easily on the Web.

Harrison book is a pretty good reference source, by several collectors I know recommending it to me.

Best regards
