knobloch use in match?
I saw another thread saying the rules were changing and I would not be able to shoot with Knoblochs. I have been shooting with them for the last 15 years as they were the only thing that allowed me to fix some of my astigmatism issues. Why would they be changing the rules for shooting glasses now? Is the rule change being made by someone who can see without glasses?:(

I suspect CMP has just banned the thin plastic occluder over the non-shooting eye. Presumably, using a safer, shrapnel-blocking material would be fine, but CMP should probably clarify that.

FWIW:

I'm out too. Also, the two lense mandate wouldn't allow the Oakley Blade type shooting glasses that I used to use before my eyes got too bad and switched to Knoblochs.

... must be two complete lenses...
If they didn't mean it, then they shouldn't have written it that way. Anyway, I think most competition officials would use better judgment if someone was using the correct spec ANSI safety glasses even if it only had one wrap-around lense. |

Check out this eye protection that the CMP sells: https://estore.thecmp.org/Catalog/Item/848YELLOW It obviously has only one lens that extends in front of both eyes. Again, if you have any serious concerns, contact the CMP Competitions people for a clarification. |
As long as you have glasses on and both eyes are protected, no one is going to mess with you. This is the CMP's reaction to shooters pushing back against the eye protection rule by wearing frames with no lenses or wearing glasses on top of or on the back of their head.

When I look closely at the "YES" drawing, I see two lenses separated by a third area.
Edit: I think I'm wrong. After looking at the other pictures, the two lines I thought separated the lenses must be two lines that represent a nose. |
