There are a lot of nice SG and FG rifles at the Talladega range. I am picking up an awesome 5.7 HRA LEAD SG and a 4.2 SA FG.

I hope that the field and service grades are still around in a couple of weeks. I have my dad and younger brother visiting, hopefully they can pick out a nice rifle. My wife said that now that we are expecting a baby no more gun fund its now the baby fund. well maybe ill just find some extra money in a drawer and buy 1.

That is a very nice LEAD! Strong triangle and you have to love the two-toned parkerizing. With rifles like that, I can envision a line at Talladega too.

Thursday closing report
Personal request.. Can someone check 1903 Rock Island #274364 see if there is any information on the rifle?

There were 60 rifles remaining at closing of the possible 75.

The 1903a3ís were restocked several times during the day and there were five remaining at closing and there are no others available at this time. Rifles condition remaining were ok but not special except for one which was very nice..

Restock for tomorrow should be additional SA SG and FG.

Other inventory remains about the same.

Good luck on your searches.

They have more 03A3s at the Talladega Marksmanship Park, as well as some racks to replenish.

1903A3s Thursday morning
I was 5th in the door THursday morning and quickly looked at 2 1903A3s before they had all been picked up. Both had ME 1s but neither had stock cartouches. Something I was looking for. So I passed. About 20 minutes later someone put this one back on the rack and it said "Pick Me!". It was just what I had hoped to find. Found a nice stamped sling too. After purchase I went over to the CMP Marksmanship Park...AWESOME Experience! With the rifle came a free hour of range time so I enjoyed some Greek HXP I brought along. At 200 yards with no adjustment I shot this 10 round group. First round was a 10 but later put one near the bottom right but I felt like I flinched a bit. I am really happy with how it shoots. What a great day at the south store.

Friday opening report/ Met Mr. John Beard/Tent Sale
There were six customers at opening and the racks were full.

I have been on a search for a 1903 USMC rifle for awhile and Iím no expert on them but this morning I had the rare opportunity to meet one. Mr John Beard is known for his once a month work for the CMPís on 1903ís. I had the opportunity to met him at the shop where he was working on a few rifles and he took the time to give an old Marine a 15 minute field class on the USMC 1903. Still no expert but I sure do have more knowledge about them. If you donít know him itís worth your time to look up his post if interested in 1903ís on the Forum. He is a gentleman and it was my pleasure to met him and thanks him for the great work he does for the CMP.

Checked on status of tent sale and there is no status.... Unless Mr Johnson comes up on the net with different information I think it will be next year...

1903a3ís 5 at opening two were sold and there may be a few more, 5ish that Mr Beard is working on this morning.
