1911's on auction
I know that cmp has said that there will only be mail order sales of 1911's, no store or online. But there is a lot of speculation that any pristine examples will go to auction. Can you confirm or deny this?
Thank You

I believe the CMP stated they would not make any speculations on the 1911's. Now with that said, The CMP received the M1C's and the 1903A4 snipers. The first lots were auctioned and than they were released to the store(s). They are still auctioning the M1C's and A4's.

So just think if they get a Springfield, Singer or any other rare 1911's don't you think they will go to the auction.

That's why I am posting the question to Mark Johnson, the CMP stated that sales would be mail order only, no store sales or online. I took online to mean auction, as that is the only online firearms sales. Just looking for clarification

You took online to mean auction? I was referring to E store sales, CMP's online store. If I had meant auction, I would have said no auction sales. We have not inspected the 1911s as of yet, but I assume there will be a few that meet the criteria to go on our auction website. No one that has purchased a 1911 from CMP will be allowed to purchase a second one from the auction site. One 1911 per customer, per calendar year.

Thank you sir for the clarification, I took it to mean auction because that is the only online sales of fire arms.
