Hightest known serial number Inland

What is the highest known serial number of a Inland M1 Carbine. Not interested in M2 serial numbers.

7514231 is the highest M1 on our list here on the forum.

I doubt 7514231 is an M1. Most likely M2. I remember seeing an M1 in the 7005xxx range, but can't recall exact serial number. I have 6995166 with a button rifled barrel.

7514231 belongs/ed to a forum member. When it was added to the list of carbines he did not specify that it was an M2 and typically if it was an M2, that fact would have been specified as such when it was added. That being said, I myself have never seen it so I couldn’t tell you either way.

I have seen numerous examples of M2 carbines being modified (via front receiver marking) to M1. Any Inland carbine in the 7 million serial number range should be examined closely for modification.

Thank you for the replies.

Someone offered me a high 7 million Inland at a show this year in North Carolina. The front of the receiver was marked M1 with no alterations to that marking, but after close inspection, it was clear that it was welded together from two receiver halves. I declined the offer.
