Hello Rick! Bruce Canfield reported in his 1903 story "It has been reported that a number of Remington M1903s were utilized by the U.S. Marine Corps in some of the early Pacific campaigns." By August of 42, over 200 thousand of them had been produced so I would think it possible that some were issued to the Marines, as the landing occurred in August 1942. Regards, Rick.
