Default Welcome to Alabama, Remington Arms!

News sources at Yellowhammer News Facebook page have announced that Alabama Governor Bentley and representatives from Remington Arms, Ilion, NY will announce Monday of Remington's decision to open manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, Al. The new facility will hire at least 2000 employees. Remington's New York plant in Ilion will remain open but it's staff will in time be reduced.

Good for Huntsville. Shreveport LA was trying to get them also ,but did not have all the ex shuttle employees to draw from like huntsville did. Guess the pro 2a people are doing what Cuomo asked.

It seems that indeed had a bearing on Remington's decision, according to the article. Regardless, I'm glad to have them here and it will only make the ride to north Alabama more enjoyable.

Also interesting is that where I live in south Alabama, Sanders Lead Company is a principle supplier of lead and recycled plastics for both Remington and Federal for their ammunition.

Read that today. Am very happy to see Remington come here. I believe that they will be very welcome. Huntsville is a very nice city and they will complement the aerospace, rocket and automotive industries nicely!! It's great to see these folks voting with their feet!

Not to mention one of my previous duty stations, Redstone Arsenal! That was a great facility to serve at!

As soon as Cuomo's (Li'l Duce's) SAFE act was passed, one of our first fears was that Remington would soon be leaving, taking with it hundreds of high paying jobs. It was only a matter of time. Bravo to Remington for moving to a state in free America! If I were not an old man, I would be leaving this godforsaken state too. Will the last person out of New York State please turn off the lights.

I wonder if there's anything to the rumors that Bushmaster may soon follow?
