We can only accept your driver’s license if you it shows “enhanced” or has a star.

I get a new Drivers license in a about 5 months. I will call tomorrow.

These are the "new" post 9/11 drivers licenses the TSA will accept.

NOW that makes sense...I do recall being asked at my last license renewal if I wanted a license that would be accepted for ID at the airport.

I declined, but maybe in the future should research, and possibly consider getting one.

In my state, there is NO difference in cost . . . .BOTH are outrageous!!

$27 more for a CDL in Florida ( $75 vs $48 for Class E ) and both are compliant licenses. Which means you have to prove US citizenship. Florida went that way years ago. This will be my third renewal with the symbol in the corner.
