IIRC, Wolf Gold is non-corrosive boxer-primed in brass cases - basically PPU.
I love the smell of MRT in the morning - it reminds me of . . . wet canvas."

I'm what you'd call a legend in my own mind.

wolf gold as far as i know is no longer available and was only available as 180 grain soft point at around 2700fps a bit stout...not that the M1 cant handle it. Also it was close to $1/rd last i seen it.

Theres only about a .05 cent difference between wolf steel and the 150 grain M2 by PPU
you can find the ppu for under 70 cents per round and if you buy the 500 round pack in the ammo can you get a free ammo can.

Right now i cant see why anyone shooting factory ammo trying to save a buck just buy PPU M2 in the ammo can. Sell the ammo can and brass when your done shooting it.

you can easily get $100/500 shipped for your once fired brass
so lets say you can recover $110 selling the PPU brass and the ammo can your looking at about $220 for 500 rounds of "M1 safe" M2 ammo. I will add its the best shooting sub .80 cent per round ammo I ave shot out of my service grade M1s .

The problem with Russian made 30-06 and 308, Win.
Cartridges is the large 6.5 mm berdan primer.
All other berdan primed 30-06 cartridges use 5.5 mm primer, the larger primer weaken the cartridge case head area.
These primers were used for years on the 7,62X54R cartridges for years, and they worked great. But the 7,62X54 R has a much larger case head.
If the cartridge head ruptures, the stock maybe damages.
