Default Handguard

First off, I'm not a carbine expert. Found a nice walnut handguard with 4 rivets marked PI. Can't seem to identify it. Can anyone help.

'PI' is Packard Inland. As far as I know they only made operating slides, recoil plates & adjustable rear sights. Check closely, may be 'PU'.

Post a picture. Not sure what you got. Might be a miss struck 'HI'.

Not a WW2 hand guard. Most like likely a post war. Maybe Korean. No references to it in any of the CCNL's that I could find.

It looks like nice reddish brown GI walnut. If you can post the pics maybe some one else would have another opinion. Thanks

Share the picture with the forum. Some of these folks are wood gurus!
