I don’t know about the Legion, but lots of private clubs are CMP affiliated.

Didn't know that. Is Amvets one of them? or VFW?

Not true....according to CMP.

Yes, starting in 2005 Congressionally chartered veteransí organizations (VFW, American Legion, etc.) are recognized as CMP special affiliates. Any member of these organizations, who wishes to purchase military surplus items from the CMP and fulfills all other requirements, may purchase those items by submitting proof of membership.

Restricted Items
We cannot process this order because you are either ordering an item that requires your file to show proof of U.S. citizenship or membership in a CMP affiliated club, or this order will exceed the purchase limit we have placed on an item. Proof of citizenship or club membership can be faxed to 256-835-3527, emailed to custserve@thecmp.org or mailed to CMP, 1401 Commerce Blvd, Anniston, AL 36207. Please see the block below for specific reason.

Under this it says for reason "CLUB"

I have purchased firearms and ammo with firearms before, Last year I think. Email License and American Legion card good enough?

Thanks
Were you trying to order the 5000 round .22 case?

That's what I don't get. If the limit is 2,000/year how can one order a 5,000rd case?

Thanks to this post I was able to snag a case. I originally ordered a case with my Garand order with the 25% ammo discount. Due to forgetting to get a notorization my order wasn't processed until this week. CMP called me to let me know they were out of 45. I guess some extra cases were found somewhere. So I might not have gotten the discount, I am happy I was still able to get a case.

I do believe that's just one of the things they allow. But you cannot buy (2) of those cases.

Was at the North Store in October and saw a guy wheel out two cases of Eley...10,000 rounds.

Thanks for the help guys
I was looking into some 45 acp. Just the smaller 240 packs. I might also want some 38 +p. I purchased 30-06 with a couple. Garands in 2018 or early 2019. I sent an email with my Drivers License and picture of my more recent American Legion card, well see I guess.
Again ..Thanks
