Default WRA Garand Sight Knob Question

The sight knobs on one of my Winchester Garands appear color case hardened. Are these original? All the repros I've seen appear black. Everything else on this rifle is original as far as I know. I obtained it from a family friend who inherited it in around 1970. The knobs were on it then and he doesn't think his dad did anything to it.

Some of the Winchester elevation caps and windage knobs were Dulite finished as well as parkerized.

What I see is missing finish with the metal showing "in the white". The black color looks like Dulite blueing as stated by Mike in NC.

FWIW,

Emri

Makes sense to me. At least it's most likely an original WRA sight knob. Thanks for the opinion.
