I just throw the feed on the ground. Deer don't complain. Other critters eat it too. Everybody's gotta eat.

I use a steel trash can to store my grain. I thread a rubber tie down with S hooks at each end through the lid handle and secure lid to trash can handles. Simple fix for under $3 plus the cost of the trash can. No hasps or locks or other special contraptions necessary. Rubber tie down has to be replaced every two years as the little devils will eventually figure out device. If tie down is too long, wrap it several times through the lid handle. HTH
