I might be wrong about this, but for anyone who buys that rifle along with that story, P J will probably mean "poor judgement."

The stock is a late war replacement and the numbers on the side indicate the serial number of a rifle that was in that stock while it was in Israel.

Must have gone there right after the last battle in Italy before being returned here for use by Third Army for parades in NYC where it was banned by Mayor Bloomberg and smuggled out of NYC to upper state NY where it was placed with CAI for safe keeping. But since no one from Third Army came by and claimed it they have now sold it to make room for more imports from Russia.

"Funny" my SPG replacement stock has P-J in sling well. Wonder if the General was "resurrected" since he died in"49"?

At least the one at my local Big 5 is a Winchester.
