Default Trench knife

I know there are a lot of fakes out there. Any chance this is a cleaned up trench knifle?

I vote repro. The blade looks too new/clean and it doesn't look to have the same thickness as my original M1918. To me the font looks different and not as deeply struck and under M1918 has the manufacturer (L.F. & C. - 1918) markings. The nut at the end also looks wrong.

Pictures 5 and 7 have the right color. Color of other photos is wrong but could just be your camera.
It has been recently ground on, but that by itself doesn't disqualify it.
I have 10 examples here to compare - not wild about the U.S.1918 but again #5 and 7 look right. I guess I would have to have more/different photos.
If it is a repro it is a very good one.

The tang-to-handle fit looks way too poor to be an original IMHO.

I cannot say for certain without having it in my hands, but will vote for reproduction from the photos. That handle marking should be on a AuLion marked blade.

I vote repro. Looks exactly like a copy that I bought way back around 1980. Does the blade feel "tinny"?

Old topic I know but definitely a repro. I bought and still have the exact same one in 1987 for $15.

But it is a far better repro than current offerings on the market.

Yeah i think this is repro because the blame looks too new and clean but the handle look original and it might have been removed from another blade.
