Default M1912 Pistol Belt

This weekend at an estate sale I found what I thought was a nice used aftermarket pistol belt for less than $2.00. It was fairly clean and well-made and who can pass up a $2.00 pistol belt, right?

When I got it home and really looked it at, I may have discovered a genuine late M1912.

It is khaki color, has a plain snap (stamped “Carr” inside), two keepers, two patents, with no stencils.

Stamped on the end:
“Made by Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co. Worcester, Mass, USA”
“Mills (in bullet outline) Patented Jan 29, 1901; July 16, 1907”
What do you think? Real deal or good reproduction?
BTW, I cleaned some of the verdigris off after I took the pictures, but I have some more work to do.

If it’s real, it will go well with the M1916 holster that I found at a flea market for $5.00 a few weeks ago. (Not so much period-correct since the holster is made by Cathey, but price-wise they match well. So, real or not, I think that I got a good deal.)

Absolutely no concerns on the belt...it is authentic.

I would say both period correct, since the military would and does get things in bulk most of the time and issues them to units. So, these would both likely have been in the system at the same time.

Actually, I have some Viet Nam era pistol belts and some ALICE mag pouches that will probably be more suited for the Cathey holster.

I have a brown Boyt M1916 and a couple of M1918 mag pouches (Mills and L.C.C. & Co.) that I'm going to use the the M1912 belt with.

Seen here with a R.M. Co. 1942-dated belt:
