Default my first match

I plan on attending - I will do the vintage sniper (going to shoot the 1903A4 I recently purchased from CMP) and maybe the M1 match the day before. I have no idea what to expect and do not know where to find the sniper specific rules. Where can I read (or call) to maximize my experience?

You can download the rulebooks at the link below. They also contain the procedures. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people that would help you out if need be during/before the match too.

lots of good stuff in there! a few more questions

Is there another match where I can shoot my 1903A4? The 2 man sniper team may be a stretcher for me and a shooting buddy.

What type of stuff should I bring with me beyond rifle, cleaning kit, and ammo?

Thanks!

Vintage Sniper is going to be it for your 1903a4 “in competition.” All you really need is your rifle, ammo and a shooting mat. A shooting jacket would be a plus as it would absorb some recoil. We shoot 168 gr projectiles in our 1903a4geries. Just show up and ask for some help. We will all be glad to give some direction. Vintage sniper is a fairly relaxed match, so there is no need to overthink it. Dope for your scope at 300 and 600 yards in advance would be helpful. You do get plenty of sighters at both stages. The main thing is to not sweat the small stuff and show up to have fun.
