Right over the original finish or did you strip it first?

Did you do a trigger job that others have recommended and done?

The existing finish was pretty good, linseed oil does a lot for the wood. They also have synthetic stocked options.
I have not done a trigger job, but I plan on it.
I bought the rifle primarily to practice offhand shooting and just need some cheap trigger time in when I can't get to the range. I have all ready used the rifle to diagnoses a problem with my trigger control.
Next winter I'm going to look for or try to start an air rifle league

Thanks. There's also some dialogue over at Rimfire Central on the 853 trigger jobs.

Yes, I got two on April 11th.

Very nice ones that look as new.

Will be spiffing up the stocks since they look dry. I have some PTO that I'll try first.
