Disappointed? Is it better to not have one at all like 10,000 or so still waiting? These things have "lived life". If it looked like new, the only story behind it would be how much dust it collected over the years.

LOL not kidding. The OP has been seeing freshly reparked and rebuilt guns in these forums and is disappointed his isn't that. Since this is a one and done lottery he has two choices. Live with the mismatched finish or repark his gun.

I received a similar Field Grade. I believe a 1917ish Colt receiver and later Colt slide with different finish. After reading several post and doing some research, I really like what I have, an old warhorse for sure. I love the rack number on the grips too.

Yeah I like that one a lot.
Id trade mine for it quick.
1914 Colt frame/RR slide.
