Default Shooter's Mess (again?)

Looking at the current map posted for the National Match web page, the Shooter's Mess is shown. [Pretty much center mass, for those looking]

Is this a hold-over from an old map, or did/will someone start providing meals again?

Thanx

Hi Ham_Chu,

I for one REALLY hope they bring back the Shooters Mess, even if it's just a few big tent's!
That (one) food truck's limited breakfast offerings leaves a lot to be desired! Especially in the dark at 5 AM

I think it is an old map.

The mess hall from the old days certainly added to the Camp Perry experience, my youngest son who was barely old enough to start shooting got to experience the mess hall, chocolate pudding was a stand out. It would be great summer camp for the Ohio Guard if they set up field kitchen for the matches, somebody with influence with the Guard could mention to them how great that would be.

With luck "WE" can get the ball rolling! Half cooked or cold breakfast is do-able
at 5 AM! But a nice place to have breakfast, would make most shooter's VERY HAPPY!

I don't know why they can't do what they do for the New England Games at Camp Ethan Allan, up in the green Mountains of Vermont.
The CMP and Vermont Rifle & Pistol Assoc. arrange for a local caterer to bring in meals to the base mess everyday.
Great home cooked hot breakfasts and dinners, and bagged lunches to take out to the range. And reasonably priced, around $33 a day for all 3 meals.
And it only costs $20 per night to stay on base in a nice private room.
It's no wonder attendance there has been increasing big each year since inaugural in 2016

Maybe a local catering company could be contacted and made aware of a good opportunity for business and point them to the right office to make arrangements. Kind of a grassroots strategy.
