Where is a good place to get a nice quality walnut replacement stock set from for the M1 Garands?

Try Dupage. https://www.dupagetrading.com/produc...m1-stock-sets/
They have them finished...similar to what CMP sells and on Service Grades or unfinished and you can stain or/and finish yourself.

Other option is the CMP Estore...https://estore.thecmp.org/?cat=PAC

Is there a certain color stain they use, or is it just linseed oil rebbed?

My understanding they use a spray on stain so the stock pieces sorta match. Most people it seems will refinish these stocks. The color seems to vary by stocks.
Look at the M1 picture thread with new stocks and will show the variations of color.....

Fulton Amory sells Minelli stocks sets for $130. They are stained, and look like Springfield Armory profile. Dupage stocks are Winchester profile.

CMP stocks, last I saw, are made by Boyds to the Dupage contour. You'll see both the Boyds & DTC (Dupage Trading Corp) stamp in the barrel channel. A Garand stock purchased directly from Boyds used to be fatter than the Dupage/GI profile. Anybody seen a recent offering directly from Boyds?

CMP stocks & Dupage stocks will be essentially the same give or take a cartouche.
