I appreciate your answer but was wondering about the prices for all of the rifles that they had. All of the posts show inventory but none seem to have the prices other than the 6M S/A.

I was also wondering how good of condition that the CMP Special FG are?

If I make the trip, then I would be to be pretty well-informed rather than standing around trying to make an informed decision on the spot.

Look at 2/2/2017 south store report where I listed the prices.

CMP Special FG are completely rebuild, so in very nice shooting condition, not for collecting.

Hope this helps if not drop me a note and I will follow up.

I have found that US GI scabbards are not common to find in the M1 Bayonets offered. Many superficiously look like US GI but are in fact Greek.
I generally look to se if any are marked by Victory Plastics, and have only ever found a few.
Most have a Chinese symbol that looks like a styalized H, or no marking at all.

If US GI are really present then they would be a really good score

I'm thankful Rob showed me how to identify the Scabards back when the South Store was at it's big location. I bought a Bayonet for myself and my Dad. I found one scabbard when I first bought them that had the VP and just the US bomb, but I could not find a second one. After about 4 visits to the CMP I finally found a very nice one at the Birmingham Collectors Gun Show for $40.

Recently I found a nice M1 brown handle bayonet with the VP scabbard at CMP. But I stop by daily when their open and it gives me a chance to check bayonets often, just right time and place I guess.

Tom,
I agree. I have found a few gems mixed into the offerings a few times I have gone.
You can occasionally find non-Greek marked bayonets and every now and then a genuine GI scabbard.
It pays to go often, but then look who I am talking to
Rob
