It most certainly does not. It denotes activity and participation.
Pretty much everyone is up to speed on the quality vs quantity side by now so I don't worry about people thinking 8 million posts = brilliant poster. Ratings just ask for problems as well, especially if there is no recourse.

Nothing but silly insecurity; a "hey look at me" mentality if you will. I guess seeing a higher post number by their user name makes some think that others will rate them more important and/or more knowledgeable. Hardly the case.

Same with the "joined date". Some probably feel more empowered since they have been around longer; thus the illusion they are entitled to God knows what or have a more valued opinion. I've found newcomers offer plenty to forum groups.

Now regarding avatars.... well those are just fun.
