I agree with the strict definition for something other than "member" (I can't argue with a dictionary, mainly because my last name isn't "Webster", "Merrimaim Graves" or thatever!). However, the classifcation/ title "user" sort of , well, plain sucks. Most "users" are social miscants or misfits (What say ye, all you LE and PhD types?). Yes, individuals who registered for the CMP Forum are not "members" of "The CMP", but they had to register in order to fully participate in "the CMP Forum". Rather than the crappy term "User", why not use something like "Registered Forum Participant" (which of course is too long), or maybe just plain old "Participant".

Or just call all registered Forum 'Users' "Members" and Include a Clearly displayed disclaimer that all Opinions expressed by any 'Forum Members' (or whatever) are theirs' alone and in no way represent the offical opinions of the CMP or any of it's various departments, etc.,etc.

Way too many 'creative' lawyers and judges, these days. That also is odorous (didn't want to repeat previous disparaging terms).
