Right next to the aptly named Gun Hill residence apartments.

Also, the tall stack in the street view shot. Is that part of the old factory?

If this link works, the old factory lot is a superfund site on the left side of the road (looking up the hill). The lot is still empty due to the contamination.

Yup, the link works. The view is of the old factory lot.
Interesting, thanks for sharing

From what I read on-line, yes. It's amazing how much Ithaca has changed over the years. One of the places I used to live is long gone, it's now a huge, modern apartment complex. Big money. There was nothing like that Gun Hill complex across the street from the old Ithaca Gun plant back then.

I'd certainly be pleased with that one. I'm hoping for one from 1943 because that's my birth year.

It would sort of go along with the rifle I was issued that was manufactured the same month I was born. They issued me a rifle in MCRD San Diego that was within days of being exactly the same age I was. Wish I still had that rifle, but I had to give it back when I left Okinawa.

If anybody knows where M1 S/N 1109747 is, let 'em know I'd be interested in buying it.

According to colt serial search this is a 1943 1911A1 frame. Ithaca slide, (Although CMP tag says RR). Think the serial is in duplicate range by Ithaca also so could be a curve ball in there.

Several markings on the pistol. G.H.D and Colt proof markings on left side. I think also a "61" on the trigger guard. On the right side of the pistol is A1181 on frame and then a "73" on trigger guard. P marks on left frame and top slide. Barrel is an High Standard HS marked.

If anyone has some input I'd love to hear it!
