Yep... again, this has been answered.

I will try and explain in detail...with pictures :-)

When "Capt'n Chaos" AKA Orest, sends out a sales announcement. A bunch of users try and log on a the same time. The E-Store can only handle X amount of users logged in at a time. Kind of like a "funnel effect"
Where:
The top of the picture is everybody trying to log in.
The middle of the picture is the folks getting the "timeout"
The bottom of the picture is people having no issues at all.




It just depends on where you are "in line" at the time of you logging in.

Sounds like you guys need a good DBA... Hopefully they have setup the proper database maintenance tasks, index rebuilds, log truncating, proc recompiles, etc...

I guess the flood of people gave up?? The e-store seems back to normal for me now.
