Default Sight cover/springs

At what point in WW2 were rear sight cover springs no longer blued? I have seen some that are ribbed and blued on WW2 rifles. Bruces book talks about them being blued early and being updated in the war to the ribbed configuration but makes no mention of when the blueing stopped

Springfield started parkerizing rear sight covers in late 1940. They also went from a no rib cover with a letter code to a ribbed cover in the Winter of 1940. I haven't observed any Springfield ribbed covers that are blued but that does not mean they dont exist . Sometime between the no rib covers ( with letter code ) and the ribbed covers Springfield changed from blueing to parkerizing. There has to be an overlap somewhere. I do not know for certain if it's with no rib covers or ribbed covers as prewar original rifles are rare to find in unaltered condition .
Winchester used both a no rib cover that was blued ( without a letter code ) and a ribbed cover that was blued / dulite and then changed to a ribbed cover that was parkerized, I think, sometime in 1942. Winchester did not use a no rib cover with a letter code at the bottom. Springfield did also use no rib covers without letter codes but on modelshop rifles and some may have been carried over in a few production rifles.
