Default WOW that is a cool auction! Matching serial numbers SA M1 Garand and Colt M1911A1

I've watched the CMP 1911 auctions from day one and my previous favorite was the "Halloween" 1911.

Today I was browsing the auctions and came across the auction for matching serial numbers Springfield M1 Garand and a Colt M1911A1. I just think that is a damn neat auction. If I hadn't already received a CMP 1911 I would have been a serious bidder on the "Halloween" 1911 and this one too. This one just hit my WOW meter and I thought whoever at the CMP that came up with that auction needs a raise for ingenuity.

WOW, that is really unique. Must have taken a little leg work to figure out they had both of those in stock.

I imagine all inventory is on a computer, and queries for like numbers are pretty simple.

It is a really cool auction...wish my pockets were deep!!

I wish I did. I'd bet I could find a guy who'd pay a premium for it.

$6,700 seemed a little higher than my original $5k guesstimate.

Still a pretty cool pair.
