If the magazines are actually marked SA they are commercial production, not military. The box is probably real, but the box in my collection with the same contract markings, dated Mar-1968, contains Borg Warner magazines.

In 1959, when M14 production was just beginning, what were the markings on the first magazine prototypes? It seems logical that SA would have made the first prototypes and put some kind of markings on them.

Ted is more than likely correct, but nobody has been able to show me a fake yet. If nothing else, I will be able to show everyone what not to buy. Downloading the free m14 magazine id from lulu will answer most questions. "Different" has done some awesome research and provides a few timelines for contractors.

Springfield Armory shut down in 67 or 68 so the package is garbage. That being said this is very interesting. I would definitely reach out to Different once you have them in hand.

WOW! $$$

Now I am going to have to research current pricing on USGI M14 mags and check the 20 unused ones that I have in the basement.

===

EDIT: Oh well, apparently, nothing really special. Mostly BRW S-1, several KMT, two OM and one HR-R.

I donít think it is. The mags are marked SA for Springfield Armory. The packaging is dated after that. They are being sold together implying they were together originally.
