Default Tracking Reloading Supplies

Does the program track reloading supplies, such as powder, primers, bullets, dies etc?

Thanks

Hank

Not yet, but I'm actually working on that as we speak.

While we're at it though, what data exactly do you want to track for each? I want to make sure I cover everything.

I had been working on and off over the last year or so on a Access database that tracks components and loaded ammo inventories. It was really starting to work out then I had a hard drive failure. I'm old school and don't save my stuff "in the cloud". Oh well...

MyGunDB doesn't save in the cloud -- data never leaves your computer and is stored in an encrypted database. It uses AES 256bit encryption, unlike Access.

I'd love to hear what features/data you were adding -- I'm still mocking up the workflow I think the reloading tab is going to use.

Hmm, maybe 2 sets of notes: 1 general and one specific to the firearm selected. Weights for bullets, of course, would be needed, but what about how many times Brass has been fired?

Now, I personally don't track ANY of that stuff as I have 1 press and only reload a couple calibers so I don't have much equipment. So that said, what data for each type of thing would you need? OR could it be a generic "equipment" list that states Type, Manufacturer, Model, Size, Notes? If something like that could be used, it'd be WAY easier to code. I figure Equipment isn't as big a deal as components, so I might just start with them first and then add Components.

Well, the Ammo tab already lets you track reloaded ammo (including shotgun). Eventually you'll be able to click a recipe from a list and have it generate the reloaded ammo for you automagically, but I want to get the component handling done first, of course.

Yeah, I'd put cost in for each item.

It's coming, it's coming! Almost done -- got caught up in making the Range Log and IDPA Score tracking tabs for awhile there! Recipe section will come later.

That's coming but i have a few other things that have to be done first. The recipes tab will be a bit more complicated since I want it to subtract from the components tab automatically for you. I plan on the reloading components, recipe and calculators/tools tab to all be a single Addon package together.

Interesting thread! One thing I might add, as I do all this manually (paper and pencil): I track lot numbers on powder and primers. For example, an 8# jug of IMR 4064 lot # 1234XYZ is listed in my powder section and assigned the next lot letter for 4064 (Lot F).

Then, in my load data, 100 rounds 30-06 loaded with bullet ABC, case lot HPX Lot B, Primer WLR Lot H, 47 grains 4064 Lot F.
