Pictures of my CMP Colt.

I like the character of it. Any information you can share would be appreciated. Anyone know what the mark is on the barrel? Serified P?

Received this Field Grade 1911 on August 14. Took me a bit to sort out the picture thing. A 1918 Colt receiver and Colt slide. Ogden rebuild marks. "H" acceptance mark on the slide. Well worn "P" on the lug and "G" on bottom of the barrel.

Any chance the slide and receiver have been together their entire lives?

Ok, I think I figured it out....hopefully you can see the pics.

Make received: Colt Slide, Ithaca Frame
Model received: 1911
Serial Number received: 252609
Grade received: Field
1918 Colt receiver and Ithaca slide. One set of rebuild marks: Ogden. Barrel has "COLT 45 AUTO" and a "P" stamped on it. Has a "JM" symbol stamped in a circle on left side. Many thanks to TheBearPack for the following on it: "Frame originally shipped to Springfield on March 12, 1918. Assume it picked up the Ithaca slide and WWII Colt barrel at Ogden late in the war".

Any/all other info GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Took it out for a ride yesterday after having it inspected by an armorer.
Boy, was this puppy ACCURATE! It simply amazes me that something built so long ago still functions as well now as it did then. That, and the history behind this, just floors me.

Thank you CMP.....thank you VERY much!

My Field grade got here yesterday. Colt Frame with Colt slide. Wish the slide and frame finish was closer but overall OK with my purchase. Was told it was delivered 1/20/18.
