Default Can M1 ammo be used in a civilian 30-06?

Hey Guys,

Newbie here. I have an M1 Garand and was wondering if the ammo I buy from the CMP can be used in a civilian 30-06. Like in a lever action rifle?

I'm aware of the issues on using civilian ammo in the M1, but is the reverse true?

Thanks !!!

I know levers come in 30-30, but didn't know they come in 30-06?

Correct on the 1895, and Browning's BLR is chambered for 30-06 and other long-action calibers.

If a lever action with tube feed magazine DO NOT use pointed bullets in it, otherwise you should be fine.
