42 here. I'm betting that the age range is weighted heavily toward the 40 and over crowd for a few reasons:

1. This is an expensive damn hobby, and I know I certainly couldn't have afforded it when I was in my 20s. Just shooting is costly enough; once you start accumulating a collection of Garands, Carbines, Springfields and Enfields it gets damn expensive. Getting all correct rifles from all manufacturers and production ranges is obscene...

2. Growning up, I spent a lot of time with my grandfather, a WW2 veteran, before he died. It formed a direct connection to "The Greatest Generation" for me. I think as you lose that personal connection, the connection to the relics of that generation becomes less intense. I've always been fascinated with WW2, and much less so to WW1 and Civil War...probably because I have no direct link, via a close friend or relative who was "there."

3. Younger people aren't growing up watching Lee Marvin, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood fight Nazis and "Japs" (to use the vernacular, not to offend anyone of Japanese descent...that I'm even saying this shows how different the mindset is now); they're watching Bruce Willis and Tom Cruise fight Terrorists with MP5s and Glocks. Different times, different heroes, and different enemies...things change. Other than BoB and SPR, and (to a MUCH lesser extent, in my opinion) The Pacific, name one popular WW2 movie made in the last 20 years. There's been more movies about the current conflicts than WW2...The Green Zone, Black Hawk Down, and The Hurt Locker come to mind.

I'm working on 64. Gave 20 of them to the Marines and 24.5 to the Army. I don't even wish I had any of them back. In fact, would do them again if I could.
