Default Dented case mouths

My 2016 NM AR 5.56x45 badly dents at least 50% of case mouths on ejection.
Any suggestions on how to correct this?

An AR of mine was doing the same and I was told by someone to put a piece of sticky backed Velcro on the brass deflector bump. Ended the problem for me as the brass now hits the soft Velcro on the way out.

Default Have a sheet metal cmp legal brass deflector installed

I think it is hitting the barrel extension or ejection port.

You should see a deposit of brass where it's hitting after a while. Put something there if possible to soften the hit. Outside of that you might be looking at changing the gas system to alter bolt cycling speed.

Velcro on deflector. Trim ejector spring or ejector til it's just proud of the lug face before installing the retaining pin.

Why? Doesn't hurt a thing. Sometimes just a heavier buffer will slow down bolt speed allowing sooner ejection. Otherwise just run a tapered punch into the mouth hefore resizing. Problem solved.

Sometimes simple is best, the velcro sticky piece works well .
