Default 1911 .22

Thought this might be interesting to the 1911 guys here.

Bought this over the weekend at the local show. It a pretty neat little plinker. So much like a real one, it is just cool. This is a pretty early all steel Llama copy in .22. 2/3 scale I suppose.

It works great with CCI Mini Mags, and is a hoot to shoot. Old fella was walking in the door with it and I asked if it was for sale. We agreed on 210.00 and I walked away really happy.

It is very good build quality for a Spanish Firearm. This one was made in 1960. I have read the quality really dropped later on when they went to cheap pot metal, ribbed barrels and such.

Pretty decent shape and a good shooter for 60 years old now.

Take down is just like a real 1911.

I have two sets of additional real wood grips coming. One a original period checkered set and one a neat aftermarket set. I will put the original plastic target ones back in storage and use the more traditional looking ones to shoot with. Really do not like the plastic ones the way they look at all that. Rest is pretty true to a 1911. Those plastic grips are not.

Hi carbineone,

Good Luck with it!
I found a Spanish LLAMA 1911 2/3 scale 22 pistol that is a very close copy of a real Colt 1911 pistol. Cabbala's had it in the used section.
It looks like new & shoots well too! I hope I never need parts for it.

Enjoy every day,
broom

all the above sound great to me

I bought an Argentina Molina in 22LR - it wouldn't shoot (jamming) and I sOLD IT FOR WHAT i HAD IN IT.
Of course I used lead bullets and it functioned fine with plated 22 Lr - felt like an idiot and would like another

I have an Argentine 22 conversion shoots well with CCI's, bought years ago. Saw one for sale locally recently for over $1K, but that is the only 2 I have ever seen.

Enjoy your new find.

Actually there are quite a few used parts out there if you search. Alot of the .380 small frames share parts too. There are some aftermarket parts starting to come available too.

We had to make a new firing pin for this one. They are available repro. But at 50.00 we can make one for a few bucks. It was snapped in half. But easy enough to make. Most parts that would fail are also easily made too. Seems the firing pins are the one weakness to the older ones. But firing pins can be a problem in quite few of the older .22 rimfire Pistols and Rifles.

This is my 1927 Argentine that was converted to .22LR in Argentina for training police in Buenos Aires. Function is perfect but it shoots high.
