To all:
I just finished refurbishing 14 NJROTC 853 rifles and did chronograph testing with Crossman pellets and RWS 10 for comparison.

The RWS pellets reduced the extreme spread (of velocity) on most rifles I tested, and the biggest difference was in the standard deviation which was cut in half for most rifles.

The rifles had average velocities around 400 fps, with some as high as 440 fps and some as low at 360 fps.

I didn't have any H&N or other match type pellets to test, but I can definitely say the RWS produced more consistent velocities, which will ultimately lead to improved scores for any given shooter level. Given the price differential of about $6 per 500 shots, they are well worth the additional cost, IMO.
