Default $2300 ibm?

Okay. It has an IBM barrel dated in in '43, bayonet mount, adjustable rear sight, a very pretty piece of wood with nice figuring that looks to have been sanded and refinished - no visible cartouches at all.

I realize that this isn't much info to go on, but nothing else jumped out at me, without disassembling the piece. What would it take to justify this asking price? What points of uniqueness might send the price to this sort of level?

The item is on consignment to a local gunshop - with no carbine expert on the staff.

Maybe a lineout, or some unique serial number, but I would think that they'd be drawing attention to this if it were the case.

As it's on consignment, maybe it's a seller that doesn't really want to sell. Tell the wife you're selling off a gun, then ask 5 times what it's worth so it doesn't sell.

I know there are lots of houses for sale for 3-4x market value during divorce settlements.

Yes, must not want to sell it. Maybe, and I say maybe a pristine original IBM Carbine is worth this at the high end. But not as described. just my opinion

I have one that is all original no bayonet lug, flip sight, push button safety. It probably never saw any type of service. I should get $5000 at that rate right?
