Default Appleseed Marksmanship Clinics

Appleseed is a marksmanship and revolutionary war history program wrapped into a fast paced weekend of shooting. The program will help you build strong positions in prone, seated/kneeling, and offhand, and teaches the proper use of the military web or leather sling. Lunch time presentations will focus on the history of April 19, 1775 and the deeds of those few who stood up to make a difference.

This is a family friendly program, and for 2009 there are no event fees (other than small fees charged by the local range) for youth under the age of 21, women, and active duty military.

Most Appleseed events will shoot at 25 meters.
Centerfire or rimfire rifles are equally welcome, but please remain in compliance with any state or local laws.

Our goals:
1. Help you improve your marksmanship.
2. Work towards a 4moa accuracy standard.
3. Work towards scoring 210+ on the AQT (Army Qualification Target, sized for use at 25 meters).
4. Remember the patriots who stood up to make a difference on April 19, 1775.

I hope to see you at a local Appleseed!

Eaglescouter;

I just took a tour of the Appleseed Forum. This looks fantastic. I have seen it mentioned many times on both the old and new Forums, but I had never taken the time to investigate. I'm glad I did. I believe it to be a very worthwhile project.

I am going to talk to my son who has an 8 year old daughter that is wanting to shoot. We need to get her to a clinic and then into some actual range time.

Thanks for your labors.

2009 is a great year to take the family to an Appleseed because there are no registration fees for women and youth. That makes the entire event very affordable, and you get a great history lesson at the same time. Do the full weekend and it comes with free t-shirts for all!

Eaglescouter,
I'm in Santa Ana. Where in Corona do you shoot? Raahaugee's?

NEW: Some Appleseed events will include full distance shooting.

At the Red Bluff events we will be shooting at 100-400 yards on Sunday. Bring the rimfires out for Saturday then switch to your centerfire rifles on Sunday to put what you learned into use at the full distance targets.

Fresno, CA - Mar 6-7
Red Bluff, CA - Mar 6-7
Escondido, CA - Mar 20-21
Piru, CA - Mar 20-21
Sacramento, CA - Mar 20-21
