Default carbine stock doctor needed

well on one of my boltless carbines i got from cmp last year i replaced the beat up old nasty cracked/broken stock. well i was out in the shop today and saw another nice birch SA replacement m2 that i am going to sell. well after snapping pics of the SA i took a closer look at the other stock and its marked PU but there is an acceptance stamp and a very faint cannon cartouche. so i got to thinking i might try and have it restored but have no idea who would so such a thing. there is a chunk missing below the slide lever.

any thoughts?

thansk

Default carbine stock

67,

That stock is prime for restoration. If you want to sell it let me know, I'll buy it. If you don't want to sell try mineral spirits and steel wool, then glue the crack and clamp it, and as for the missing chunk... you could try some wood dough but it's going to look like s#%t. I could be wrong but I don't think the location of the missing wood will not affect function, just the looks of it so I'd leave it alone.

Once you've done all you can to it hand rub some Tung Oil (authentic tung oil, not the tung oil finishes you'll find at home improvement stores) into it. It's personal preference but I like it better than BLO.

Terry Craycraft is a "stock doc." When I get home tonight, I'll try and look up his contact information.
