I've had to do a re calibration on what a M39 value is , the era of $300 M39's in great shape left this planet and I was still stuck with 2009 mind set. I see the latest batch of 91/30's just in at AIM are $350 to $400. They have been hovering in the $300 range the past 2 yrs.

How much is a M39 worth: I'd wager $200 over the top price of any 91/30 refurb you see and $250 might be a better yard stick but for me, I'll use $200. Condition of course drives value.

About 2 yrs ago m39's with just awful cracked stocks and sad metal were selling out at $400. Insane but supply is low on M39s and demand is paying a good penny for one.

That sounds about right. The price has definitely gone up in the last few years.

Dang Calfed, those are gorgeous! Wish I'd picked up a few variants in the day.

One of each, although I can't tell you which ones they are in the picture.

In 2015 I purchased a VKT for $380 and a Sako for $400. Both were "hand selected" from Classic Firearms. I sold the VKT in 2017 for about $400. I think I could have got more, but I was more concerned with thinning my collection than making a profit.

Calfed, do you have one with a Chatellerault receiver? The French made MN's for only two years according to what I read; 1893 & 1894.

This is an 1894 Chatellerault model 91 rebarreled by the Finns in 1940. I lucked out and picked it up in a pawn shop a few years back. From the markings, it appears to have been captured by the Austrians at some point and then somehow ended up in Finland. The bore is pristine.

Let me add that $450 for a nice M39 is not a bad price in today's market. Aim Surplus is now advertising ordinary Tula 91/30's for $339.95 and $359.95 depending upon round or hex receiver. Classic Arms has been selling theirs for similar prices.
